US President Donald Trump said that negotiations on Ukraine are ongoing, but again expressed irritation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky .
“Zelensky needs to get his act together and make a deal,” he said in an interview with Politico .
At the same time, he emphasized that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is “ready to negotiate an end to the war.”
“I think Putin is ready to make a deal,” he said.
According to him, Kyiv should show more willingness to reach agreements and move faster towards concluding an agreement.
When asked what Zelensky’s obstacle to concluding a peace agreement was, Trump refused to elaborate, but noted that he was not showing sufficient willingness to negotiate:
“It’s inconceivable that he’s the one who’s the obstacle. You have no trump cards. Now he has even fewer cards.”
