Several sources described the conversation as tense, frank and at times “uncomfortable.”

US President Donald Trump made it clear to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he has no plans to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, as the leaders disagreed over the future of the war in Ukraine during a meeting at the White House.

According to CNN , several sources familiar with the situation described the conversation as tense, frank, and at times “uncomfortable.”

“In a ‘direct and honest’ conversation, Trump made it clear to Zelensky that the Ukrainian leader will not receive the long-range missiles he seeks at this time.

One official stated that Trump was under the impression that Ukraine was seeking to escalate and prolong the conflict, and he was concerned about potential losses during the coming harsh winter,” the publication writes.

After the meeting, Trump called for a ceasefire on the front lines and called for an end to the killings.

According to CNN, he explained to his entourage that this was due to the “realities of the current state of the conflict,” arguing, in the words of one official, that the destruction and killing were too great.

“Both sides need to make a deal,” another official said, noting that the situation will only get worse.

Trump and Zelensky’s conversation – what is known

According to the Ukrainian president, during a closed-door meeting at the White House,  he and Trump discussed arms supplies, particularly long-range weapons. He also said the two presidents discussed Trump’s announced meeting with Putin in Budapest.

“The President [Trump] shared with me his dialogue with the Russian side. Therefore, we understand all the signals from Russia. They are not new. We are counting on President Trump to exert pressure to end this war,” Zelensky said.

Trump, in turn, called the meeting “very interesting and friendly” in a social media post , but stated that it was time to “stop the killing and make a deal.”

  1. Is this breaking news! Really?
The very moment taco mentioned that he wants to speak with the war criminal first, regarding Tomahawks, was when the first step was taken to chicken out again. I said this days ago already.

  2. “Both sides need to make a deal,”

Does he think this is like two guys haggling over a car? One is a war criminal that orders women and kids to be murdered in their sleep. He orders rape, and destruction everywhere his vermin put their feet, yet he wants Ukraine to make a deal.
