According to US demands, Venezuela must expel China, Russia, Iran and Cuba and sever economic ties.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is demanding that the interim government of Venezuela expel agents of China, Russia, Iran, and Cuba from the country,  Axios writes .

“The United States is pressuring Venezuela to remove all suspected spies and other intelligence operatives from China, Russia, Cuba, and Iran. The move does not apply to full-time diplomats and is the administration’s latest attempt to force the country to comply with US demands following last week’s operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro,” the publication writes.

Also, according to ABC News sources , Venezuela must sever economic ties with these four countries and agree to an exclusive partnership with the United States in oil production and give preference to America in the sale of heavy oil.

According to the publication’s source, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told lawmakers at a closed briefing on Monday that he believes the US can force Venezuela to take these steps, as its existing oil tankers are overflowing. Rubio also told lawmakers that the US estimates Caracas has only a few weeks left before it faces financial insolvency without the sale of its oil reserves.

“The president is saying he intends to use his leverage to the maximum extent possible with the remaining elements in Venezuela and ensure their cooperation with the United States by stopping illegal migration, stopping the flow of drugs, rebuilding the oil infrastructure, and taking measures that are fair to the Venezuelan people,” one administration official said.

Trump’s plans for Venezuela

Trump previously  stated that the United States is not at war with Venezuela.  He added that his country is fighting drug dealers. The US president also stated that elections will not be held in Venezuela in the next 30 days because the situation in the country needs to be resolved.

He added that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Gegset, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Vice President J.D. Vance will be in charge of Venezuelan affairs during this time, and Trump will be in charge of everything.
