Russia questions Ukraine’s compliance with the peace agreement , as it believes that Kyiv failed to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements.

This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with journalists, an UNIAN correspondent reports .

“You have to understand the Americans, who live in a dialogue with the Russians for many months, who tell them: yes, but what’s the point of them signing or not signing? They signed the Minsk agreements, they did not implement them. This is the general opinion of the Americans and Russians – that Ukraine did not implement them. We are not discussing whether this is true or not. We must defend our interests,” Zelensky said.

He added that although this agreement was signed, it was impossible to fulfill it. Because some of its provisions were deadlocked. And those obligations that could actually be fulfilled were not fulfilled by the Russian Federation.

“Now they say that Ukraine did not fulfill it. But the agreement there was programmed to be impossible to fulfill, it was drafted and concluded that way. A stalemate. No one can do it. None of the parties. But it is believed that Ukraine signed, so it was required to fulfill it. A little more is often required from Ukraine,” Zelensky added.
