August 30 has been declared a Day of Mourning.

The number of victims of the Russian strike on the Buchansky district and the subsequent detonation has increased sharply. As reported by the head of the Kyiv OVA Timur Tkachenko, 37 deaths are already known. Just an hour and a half ago, he reported 27 victims.

“A terrible and irreparable loss. Sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. Work on the location continues. Rescuers and all relevant services continue to work at the scene of the tragedy,” Tkachenko wrote.

He also announced that tomorrow, August 30, a Day of Mourning has been declared in the Kyiv region for the victims of yesterday’s Russian attack.

“As a sign of grief and memory, the State Flags of Ukraine will be lowered to half-mast in the Kyiv region. The operation of entertainment venues will be limited. I ask you to treat this with respect and understanding, and also limit the loud performance of music in the region,” the head of the OVA emphasized.

Updated 3:00 p.m. The Ministry of Defense commented on the tragedy, emphasizing that placing explosives warehouses next to residential buildings is unacceptable.

“All responsible heads of the Security and Defense Forces and the domestic defense industry must conduct a full audit of the locations of weapons and ammunition. Such facilities should not be located near residential buildings,” the department emphasizes.
