On the night of August 6, Russian occupiers struck a GTS facility that provides a diversified route for the supply of natural gas to Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy, Censor.NET reports .

Thus, a compressor station of the GTS Operator of Ukraine was attacked in the Odessa region near the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

“This compressor station was involved in the route that connects Greek LNG terminals with Ukrainian gas storage facilities via the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, and along which LNG from the United States and test volumes of Azerbaijani gas were already being delivered.

Tonight, the facility that provides these supplies was attacked by dozens of strike drones. This is a Russian strike purely on civilian infrastructure, targeted against the energy sector and at the same time against relations with Azerbaijan, the United States and partners in Europe, against the normal life of Ukrainians and all Europeans,” the message says.

Experts are currently working at the scene to assess the consequences of the attack.

Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk called this blow a signal “for all of Europe, which plans to completely abandon Russian natural gas in 2027.”
