For 6 years now, he has been openly criticizing Trump, especially regarding his approach to Russia.

The FBI has raided the home of former national security adviser to US President Donald Trump, John Bolton.
According to The Independent , several law enforcement vehicles and FBI agents were seen near the politician’s home, standing by the door, entering and exiting the house. It is unclear what exactly the FBI agents were trying to find, as the case files on the federal court websites remain classified.
The publication recalled that Bolton served as national security adviser from 2018 to 2019, but since then has begun to openly criticize Trump, especially regarding his approach to Russia.
During Trump’s meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Bolton stated that the American president would hand over Alaska to Russia.
Bolton tweeted today about an interview he gave to NPR about Russia. “Russia has not changed its goal: to drag Ukraine into a new Russian empire,” he tweeted.Read also:
“Moscow demanded that Ukraine hand over the territories it occupied and the rest of the Donetsk region, which it could not capture. Zelensky will never do this. In the meantime, the meetings will continue because Trump wants to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, but I do not see any progress in these negotiations,” the politician stated in his reflections.
Trump, for his part, has regularly and loudly criticized Bolton, calling him “stupid.”
“This raid is just another example of how the Trump administration is stepping up its crackdown on Trump’s enemies. Last week, he ordered the National Guard to patrol the streets of the nation’s capital,” the publication wrote.
The publication added that the New York attorney general also faced an investigation after investigating fraud allegations against the president. And just yesterday, an appeals court overturned a multimillion-dollar fine imposed on Trump in a case involving forgery of business documents.
Bolton’s statements about the war in Ukraine
On August 14, Bolton said that the talks in Alaska could implement the Korean scenario in Ukraine. The politician noted that Trump may think that at the meeting with Putin they will simply “exchange views” and not conduct negotiations.
Bolton then suggested that Putin might agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine, but the question is on what terms.
