The death toll from the Russian attack in Ternopil has risen to twenty, 64 people are injured, and more people may remain under the rubble. Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported this on Telegram.

He noted that today the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions were under massive enemy attack. Russia again struck peaceful Ukrainian cities, specifically targeting housing, education, and critical infrastructure.

“The worst situation is in Ternopil. Two nine-story residential buildings were damaged. One was on fire, the other was damaged from the third to the ninth floors. As of 10:00 a.m., ten people were killed and 37 were injured, 12 of whom were children,” the minister said.

According to him, rescuers continue to evacuate people from blocked apartments.

“There are people under the rubble. We are working with extreme caution – every minute could mean a life saved,” Klimenko said.

Consequences of the attack on Ternopil

The Minister of Internal Affairs added that he had dispatched the head of the State Emergency Service, Andriy Danik, to the area. Aviation, mobile rapid response centers, Delta Force, dog handlers, heavy engineering equipment, and forces from neighboring regions are also being deployed. Psychologists are working on the ground, “Points of Invincibility” have been deployed, and mobile kitchens are providing people with warm meals.

Regarding the aftermath of the enemy attack in the affected areas, he said that approximately 500 rescuers and over 100 pieces of equipment are working at nine locations.Read also:

The minister also reported that three people, including two children, were injured in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. In the Lviv region, firefighting continues at several warehouse locations totaling over 10,000 square meters, all civilian buildings.

Massive attack on Ukraine

Today, November 19, Russian occupiers struck Ukraine with more than 470 attack drones and 48 missiles of various types. The attacks primarily targeted the western regions of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously announced nine deaths in Ternopil . Residential buildings have been hit, and fires have broken out. Chlorine levels in the air in Ternopil are also six times higher than normal. Residents are asked to close their windows and stay indoors.

    As a result of the attack by enemy drones and missiles, two residential high-rise buildings were hit, causing fires and destruction. Industrial and critical infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
