People are asked to refrain from driving towards the bridge in the Dniester Estuary area near the village of Mayaki.

Today, the occupying Russian army struck a civilian car in the Odessa region – a woman was killed and three children were injured.

According to the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, on December 18, the enemy attacked the Odessa region with strike drones, one of which hit a civilian car traveling on a bridge. According to the official, there was a woman with three children in the car. The mother suffered serious injuries and died in the ambulance.

“Her three children were taken to the hospital with injuries and acute stress reactions. Doctors are providing the necessary assistance. I express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. This is another cynical war crime by Russia – an attack on civilians,” Kiper said.

He added that drivers should refrain from driving towards the bridge in the Dniester Estuary area near the village of Mayaki – the enemy has already attacked this area three times.

Also, according to Kiper, traffic on the Odessa-Reni highway has been temporarily stopped in both directions. The resumption of traffic will be announced later. People are asked to refrain from driving on this section of the road if possible.

Meanwhile, a video of the attack, which killed a woman, has surfaced on social media . According to some reports, the woman who died is 40 years old.

Subsequently, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that in the Odessa region, as a result of the Russian air attack, movement to certain checkpoints across the state border with Moldova was restricted. 

“Due to the Russian Federation’s attack on a critical infrastructure facility, traffic on the Odesa-Reni highway has been suspended. We recommend that citizens refrain from traveling in this direction until the situation stabilizes,” the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine emphasizes.
