Five people were killed and at least seven were injured in a Russian attack on a bus in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region.

This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration (RMA) Oleksandr Ganzha.

“The Russians hit the bus with a drone. Five people died instantly. Seven injured people are currently under medical observation,” he clarified.

Russian attacks on buses

Russian occupiers have widely used the tactic of targeting civilian buses and private vehicles. For example, in Kherson on May 20 of last year, Russian troops struck a minibus with a drone. According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, there were passengers on the bus, and five of them were injured.

The situation in the Nikopol region

Nikopol region remains one of the districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast that regularly suffers from Russian shelling and drone attacks.

April of this year was particularly difficult. On April 4, Russian troops attacked Nikopol using FPV drones, killing five people and injuring 19 more. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Special Operations Command, retail pavilions and a store were damaged.

On April 7, a Russian FPV drone attacked a minibus in central Nikopol. At the time of the attack, the bus was approaching a stop, and there were people nearby . Initial reports indicated three dead and 12 injured; the number of injured later rose to 16.
