On June 1, the Russians launched a missile strike on the location of one of the training units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ground Forces Command reported on Telegram .

“Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded servicemen,” the statement said.

It is emphasized that during the strike no formations or mass gatherings of personnel were carried out, and after the air raid siren was sounded, the majority of personnel were in shelters.

To clarify all the circumstances and causes of the incident, a commission has been created in the Ground Forces Command and an official investigation has been appointed. The command and personnel of the operational command “Skhid” will also assist the work of law enforcement agencies.

“If it is established that the deaths and injuries of military personnel were caused by the actions or inaction of officials, those responsible will be held strictly accountable,” the statement said.

Additional security measures are also being taken to preserve the lives and health of military personnel in the face of missile and air strikes by the aggressor on rear areas.

The Ground Forces noted that the victims are receiving all necessary qualified medical care and expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.
