President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the attack.

At night, the Russians massively attacked Kyiv and the Kyiv region with missiles and drones. The attack resulted in destruction, deaths, and many injuries.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration , three people were killed and five others were injured in the hostile attack on the capital.

Updated 7.50. According to the State Emergency Service , 8 deaths and 5 injuries are already known in Kyiv, including 3 children.

Civil infrastructure and residential buildings in the capital were hit. In particular, in the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out at two locations as a result of the hit. 7 people died and 1 person is in serious condition in the hospital. 

Also at another address, 2 people were injured as a result of the blast wave, including 1 child.

A non-residential building was hit in the Holosiivskyi district, 1 person died.

In Solomyanskyi district, a UAV hit a residential building, causing partial destruction. 4 people were injured, including 2 children.

Also, the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovsky, clarified that the Russian Federation struck the depot, killing 7 people, six of them railway workers, and another is in the hospital.

Updated 9:40 a.m. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded  to the attack . According to him, a significant number of jet drones and ballistic missiles were involved in the strike.

“Seven people were killed in a strike on a railway depot in Kyiv. Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipro regions were also under fire. In total, 12 people died, including an Indian citizen, and dozens more were injured as a result of the attack,” he noted.

Zelensky emphasized that Russia always calculates its strikes precisely to destroy life as much as possible, and it succeeds in doing so only when air defense means are insufficient.

“I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine receive anti-ballistic missiles within the framework of PURL and bilateral supplies, and it is very important that these revenues increase in the fall. The number of victims of Russian terror directly depends on each new aid package. I thank everyone who helps Ukraine be more resilient,” the head of state noted.
