The family lived in the village of Chernechchyna, Krasnopil community.

On the night of September 30, Russian occupiers used a drone to strike a residential building in the village of Chernechchyna in Sumy Oblast, where a couple and their two young children (sons aged 6 and 4) lived. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hrygorov.

According to him, the family lived in the village of Chernechchyna, Krasnopil community. 

The State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine reported that a two-story and a one-story residential building were hit in the Sumy region. From under the rubble of one of the apartments where a family lived, SES employees unblocked the bodies of four deceased people – parents and their sons born in 2018 and 2021.

“This is a terrible and irreparable loss for the entire community and the region. I express my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones. The death of a family in Chernechchyna is a tragedy that we will never forget or forgive,” Grigorov added.

Russian drones also attacked the Kyiv region at night: a woman born in 1950 was injured in the Brovary district, the Regional Military Administration reported .

“She has an acute reaction to stress and a hypertensive crisis. All necessary medical care was provided on the spot,” they added.

There were no hits on critical infrastructure facilities. The attack damaged a private residential building, outbuildings, and a car.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

The Russian occupiers launched a combined strike on the territory of Ukraine on the night of September 28.   The enemy used almost 600 attack drones, as well as dozens of air- and sea-based missiles. The attack killed four people in Kyiv.
