President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the Russian strike on the village of Yarova in the Donetsk region , which killed more than 20 civilians. This was stated on the Telegram channel of the head of state.

Zelensky called the attack “frankly brutal.”

“Straight at people. Ordinary civilians. At the moment when pensions were being issued. According to preliminary information, the number of dead is more than 20 people. There are no words…”, Zelenskyy’s post states. 

He emphasized that such attacks by Russia should definitely not go without an appropriate response from the world. 

“The Russians continue to destroy life, but they avoid new strong sanctions, new strong blows. The world must not remain silent. The world must not remain inactive. The United States must respond. The European Union must respond. The G20 must respond. Strong action must be taken so that Russia stops bringing death,” Zelensky writes.

At the same time, the head of the Donetsk OVA, Vadym Filashkin, reported that at least 21 people were killed and the same number were injured as a result of the strike. 

“The Russians attacked people during the pension distribution. This is not military action – this is pure terrorism. Rescuers, medics, police, and local authorities are currently working at the scene. We are helping the victims and establishing the exact consequences of this crime,” he added.

Updated at 13:14 . Ukrposhta Director General Ihor Smilyansky confirmed that today, for the first time, Russia dropped a KAB on people receiving pensions in the Donetsk region, killing more than 20 people and wounding others. Among the wounded is the head of the Ukrposhta branch.

“The head of our department, Yulia, was injured. Thanks to the emergency care provided to her by our driver, there is no threat to her life – she is already in the hospital,” Smilyansky noted.

Updated at 15:00 . The number of people killed in the attack on the village of Yarova has increased to 23. This was reported on the air of “Social. Studio” by the head of the Lymanskaya MVA, Oleksandr Zhuravlev. Most of them are people of retirement age. 

Also, according to him, there are currently 18 injured people, three of whom are in serious condition. Some of the injured were evacuated to a hospital in Sloviansk.
