Rescuers continue to extinguish fires caused by the Russian attack.
During a massive attack on the night of August 20, Russian occupiers targeted food warehouses located in Boryspil. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky .
“In Boryspil, there was a strike on food warehouses and Red Cross facilities. Rescuers continue to put out fires,” Koretsky wrote.

He added that 462 rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are currently working on eliminating the consequences of the night attack across the country. 116 units of special equipment were also involved for this purpose. According to Koretsky, the Russian Federation’s attack on Kyiv and the region lasted almost 9 hours. In particular, the enemy hit residential buildings and a children’s hospital.
Russia’s night attack: what is known
As a reminder, 13 people were killed and dozens were injured in Kyiv and the region as a result of the Russian strike . On August 21, local authorities introduced a Day of Mourning in the capital for people who died as a result of the Russian strike.
Russia also targeted a checkpoint on the border with Moldova in the Odessa region .
The Air Force noted that 39 out of 44 cruise and aircraft missiles were shot down, but no information on ballistics was provided.
As military expert Ivan Tymochko noted, a feature of the Russian night attack was that the enemy used different types of weapons , focusing not on ballistics, but on cruise missiles. According to the expert, this may indicate that the occupiers’ reserves of ballistic missiles may be running out.
