BREAKING NEWS: Russia struck a double blow in Poltava region: there are 2 dead rescuers en 20 rescuers wounded, 11 others wounded.

Two of the dead and more than 20 injured are rescuers.

Russia massively attacked the Poltava region at night with missiles and strike drones, a gas supply facility was hit, and many people were killed and injured.

As reported by the head of the regional military administration, Vitaliy Dyakivnych , direct hits and falling debris were recorded at two locations in the Poltava district.

“4 people are known to have died. Another 31 people received injuries of varying severity. They are being provided with the necessary assistance,” he said.

The attack also damaged an industrial enterprise, leaving 3,480 subscribers without gas supply. Railway infrastructure was also damaged.

Most of the victims of the attack are rescue workers

As reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko , Russia carried out a double strike. First, the enemy attacked the gas production facility, and when the State Emergency Service units arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the large-scale fire, the Russian Federation once again hit the people with a missile.

Two rescuers died and 23 were injured as a result of their injuries. Three of them are in serious condition, and medics are fighting for their lives.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Viktor Kuzmenko, the deputy head of the operational coordination center of the Poltava region’s State Emergency Service, died – Hero of Ukraine, under whose leadership 17 people were rescued after the attack on Poltava in 2024. He participated in more than 50 operations to eliminate the consequences of shelling.

Also among the dead was firefighter and rescuer Dmytro Skryl. He has been serving in the State Emergency Service for over 20 years and has repeatedly participated in extinguishing complex fires at oil and gas industry facilities caused by enemy shelling.
