The attack damaged residential buildings, shops, and service stations.

Five people were killed and 19 injured  as a result of an enemy strike on the city of Merefa, Kharkiv region .

Updated at 12:28 . According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office , the death toll in Meref has risen to five, with another 19 people injured.

“Three women and two men died,” the department said.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the missile strike on the city was carried out at around 09:35. It has been previously established that the occupation army troops used an Iskander ballistic missile. A hit on the road surface was recorded. 

Earlier, the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov,  reported that four people were killed and 18 others were injured as a result of the strike. 

He noted that, according to preliminary information, a missile strike was launched on Meref.

According to Sinegubov, initially it was known about four dead and 16 injured. 

“The dead were men aged 50 and 63, and women aged 41 and 52,” he added.

The number of injured later increased to 18. Three of the injured people are in serious condition.

“Another 13 people suffered moderate explosive injuries. Two of the victims have an acute stress reaction. All are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” the head of the OVA said.

Speaking about the consequences of the attack, the official said that at least ten households, four shops, a service station, an administrative building, two cars, and a restaurant were damaged. The liquidation of the consequences is ongoing.
