In temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian troops are massively disabling mobile communications and the Internet.

This was reported by the Center for National Resistance, Censor.NET reports .
According to the Central Intelligence Agency, after Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Russia has begun implementing a so-called “digital blockade” on the peninsula as well. Formally, this is explained by “security considerations”, but in reality the goal is complete information isolation.
The Center notes that restricting access to communications is part of an information war that allows the Kremlin to spread propaganda among the population without hindrance. Such actions turn temporarily occupied territories into “information ghettos” where it is easier to impose fakes about “referendums” and “successes.”
