In part of the city there is no electricity, water or heat supply.

On the night of December 31, the Russian army attacked Odessa with attack drones, damaging residential high-rise buildings and injuring several people, including a 7-month-old baby.

According to the head of the Odessa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, five people were injured as a result of the overnight enemy attack – two adults and three children.

According to him, the Russian strike in Odesa caused damage to infrastructure and residential buildings. In particular, high-rise buildings were hit in two districts of the city. Apartments in one building caught fire.

According to Lysak, the injured include a 42-year-old man in serious condition, a 7-month-old infant, a 14-year-old boy, and an 8-year-old girl in moderate condition. All victims were taken to medical facilities where they are receiving the necessary care.

“Parts of the city are currently without power. Restoration work is ongoing at some critical infrastructure facilities, which means some residents are temporarily without water and heat. Utility services and emergency response teams are working at the damaged sites. Residents can receive assistance and advice, including on completing the necessary paperwork to receive compensation,” the official stated.

The relevant services are working on the ground. Inspection of the buildings continues.

The Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office press service told UNIAN that six people were injured. In addition to the children, the victims included two women, aged 38 and 58, and a 42-year-old man.

“The enemy launched a massive attack on Odessa… An investigation has been launched into the commission of war crimes under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the prosecutor’s office added.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Odesa region reported that the enemy attacked residential, logistics, and energy infrastructure. As a result of the hits, a fire broke out in apartments on the second through sixth floors of one residential building, and the façade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. The façades and windows of several other multi-story residential buildings were also damaged. Civilian vehicles were also damaged by the fire.

Eight people, including one child, were rescued. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police worked at the scene. Mobile steadfastness units were deployed by the State Emergency Service and the city council.

In total, 25 pieces of equipment and more than 80 rescuers were involved.
