In addition to Odessa, almost two dozen settlements were left without water supply.

The Russian army is almost continuously attacking the Odessa region and Odessa – due to prolonged air raids, Odessa schools are recommended to switch to distance learning, and a large part of the city is without electricity, heating, and water due to a night strike by the “Shaheds”.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, the air alert has been going on in Odessa for a very long time, with short breaks. Explosions and shooting could be heard throughout the night and morning in the city. According to monitoring channels, Russian drones are being recorded in various areas of Odessa and the region.

The press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that as a result of the night attack on December 19, energy infrastructure, administrative buildings, high-rise buildings, cars, and nearby garages were damaged in Odessa and the region. A 58-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized. Prosecutors are working at the scene together with police officers and SBU officers. An investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine , as a result of the attack in the Odessa region, a fire broke out at an energy infrastructure facility, which, despite constant air alarm signals, has already been extinguished. Transport infrastructure facilities, etc. were damaged. The State Emergency Service involved 11 units of equipment and 42 firefighters in eliminating the consequences.

As the head of the OVA Oleg Kiper specified , in Odessa, as a result of a massive strike, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged and the shock wave damaged the glazing in a 5-story residential building in Odessa. According to him, as a result of the strikes, residents of one of the largest residential areas were left without energy, water, and heat supply. Emergency restoration work is ongoing, all services are working in an intensified mode, and Indestructibility Points are operating in the city.

The Infoksvodokanal company explained that in the Peresypsky district of Odessa and the Odessa region, there are water supply interruptions due to the lack of electricity at some facilities. In particular, this applies to consumers of the Luzanivka waterworks (Odessa), the former Kotovsky waterworks (Odessa), the city of Pivdenne, the villages of Ilichanka, Korsuntsi, Krasnosilka, Svitle, Oleksandrivka, Kryzhanivka, Lisky, Fontanka, Vapnyarka, Nova Dofinivka, Zmienkove, Hryhorivka, Novi Bilyari, Buldynka, Vizyrka, Bilyari, Sychavka and the town of Chornomorske. 

“Unfortunately, due to the significant power of high-voltage pumping equipment, the use of autonomous power supply sources is impossible,” the report says.

The city hall press service added that since 8:30 a.m., tanker trucks with technical water have been parked at 15 locations in the district.

It also states that, on the recommendation of the MVA, due to long-term concerns, the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa City Council considered the issue and recommended that all educational institutions switch to a blended format educational process and provide for the possibility of conducting classes in synchronous or asynchronous mode. In preschool educational institutions, regular groups will work, and in schools, regular classes.

It is also reported that traffic will be temporarily closed on the M-15 Odesa – Reni highway (to the city of Bucharest), in the village of Mayaki. Drivers are asked to refrain from traveling in this direction if possible.
