According to the city mayor, people are trapped in one of the high-rise buildings.

Russian occupiers struck two guided bombs on a residential building in the center of Kharkiv.  

Updated at 1:22 p.m. The number of victims has increased to 33, said Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov. 

According to the Kharkiv Regional Emergency Management Agency, among them are a 10-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and girl, and a baby girl aged 28 days who experienced an acute stress reaction. 

Updated at 12:31. Mayor Igor Terekhov said that 22 victims are currently known. 

Updated at 12:12 . According to  the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov, the number of victims from the shelling of Kharkiv has increased to 16. Among them is a 10-year-old girl, who suffered an acute stress reaction.

He added that the rescue operation is ongoing.

Earlier, Terekhov reported that the Shevchenkivskyi district was under attack.

“A CAB hit a high-rise building. There is information that people are trapped under the rubble. A second hit on a civilian enterprise. Fire. According to updated information, the hit was near a high-rise building. About 15 cars are burning at the scene. There is information about one injured person,” Terekhov wrote.

He later added that there was confirmed information about three victims.
