Following explosions near the Luch Thermal Power Plant in Belgorod, the city lost power and experienced another blackout . Authorities are reporting a missile attack.

According to official information from Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, “missile debris from the downed missiles” caused a garbage fire in the city. He also stated that damage was reported not only in Belgorod but also in surrounding villages.

He confirmed that residents’ power has been cut off, with rolling blackouts in place. There’s also no power on the streets of the city and suburban villages, although traffic lights are working. According to Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov, the streetlights were turned off to reduce the load.

As a reminder, since late September, attacks on the power plant in Belgorod, which supplies the city with electricity, have continued. Before this, the city had experienced two complete blackouts. Amid the constant blackouts, authorities are advising local residents to stock up on generators and alternative power sources, acknowledging the impossibility of providing them with light and heat this winter.
