Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called the war against Ukraine “a ticket for the Russians.” He cynically justified the invasion and blamed it all on NATO.
He said this during a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Russian media quoted him as saying, Censor.NET reports .
“Unfortunately, so far it has not been possible to stop the hostilities (in) Ukraine, but the responsibility for this lies primarily with Europe. Europe is constantly escalating the conflict, they have no other goals. If NATO had not approached Russia’s borders, the conflict (in) Ukraine could have been avoided. If Trump had been in power, the conflict could have been avoided,” the Kremlin leader claims.
Putin also called the “mantra” of European politicians about a possible war with Russia nonsense.
” Russia is going to attack NATO? This nonsense is impossible to believe! We have never initiated military confrontations ourselves. But if they want to compete with Russia, let them try. I want to say: calm down, sleep peacefully, finally deal with your problems… We are closely monitoring the militarization of Europe, which is gaining strength. Either these are words, or it is time for us to take appropriate measures,” he says.
