Russian generals reported to Vladimir Putin about the supposed complete capture of Myrnohrad and Huliaipole. Overjoyed, the Russian dictator declared that, given the situation at the front, Russia didn’t really need peace talks.
As reported by the Russian President’s website , Putin visited the command post of the Joint Group of Forces today, where the commanders of Russian army units reported on the situation at the front.
Thus, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and his subordinate generals reported the allegedly successful offensive of Russian troops on all fronts and the “liberation” of several settlements in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhia regions. Specifically, they announced the alleged complete capture of the cities of Myrnohrad and Huliaipole by Russian troops, as well as the ongoing “cleansing” of Kostiantynivka.
Such reports delighted the Russian dictator beyond words. Specifically, Putin declared that the “liberation” of Myrnohrad and Huliaipole were “important results” that opened the way for the complete occupation of the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
“The leaders of the Kyiv regime are in no hurry to resolve this conflict peacefully. But today, judging by your reports and the pace we’re seeing along the line of contact, our interest in withdrawing Ukrainian military forces from the territories they currently occupy is virtually nonexistent. And if the Kyiv authorities are unwilling to resolve the matter peacefully, we will resolve all the issues facing us through a special military operation by force,” Putin declared, effectively admitting a complete lack of interest in peace negotiations.
