Power engineers are making every effort to restore power supply as quickly as possible.
A Russian attack on the evening of October 8 damaged one of Kyiv’s key energy facilities, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“An attack has occurred on one of Kyiv’s vital energy facilities. Power workers are doing everything they can to quickly restore power. The Russian drone attack is currently ongoing. All services are involved,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
For its part, Ukrenergo reported that enemy shelling damaged several elements of the power grid supplying Kyiv. This caused power outages for a significant number of consumers in certain areas of the capital.
Meanwhile, Kyivvodokanal reported a drop in water pressure in the water supply network of the right-bank part of Kyiv.
“Currently, there is a drop in water pressure in the water supply networks of the right-bank part of the capital, particularly in the Svyatoshinsky, Solomensky, Shevchenkivsky, Holosiivsky, and Pechersky districts. Some homes may experience temporary water outages,” Kyivvodokanal noted.
According to Borshahiv Village Council Secretary Oleksandr Medved, wastewater collection by Kyiv’s sewer system, specifically from the Borshahiv community, has been temporarily suspended. This is due to a power outage at Kyivvodokanal facilities.
