American billionaire and Donald Trump ally Elon Musk has decided to distance himself from politics, citing frustration, difficulty in achieving desired results, and concerns for his own safety.

This was reported by  The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the billionaire’s position, Censor.NET reports.

Politics has been central to Musk’s thinking for much of last year, but his enthusiasm has waned, not only because of the high costs but also because of the difficulty of achieving political influence. He has been particularly hurt by the wave of criticism that has descended on him over his work as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he created.

“Musk is also deeply concerned about his personal safety and that of his family,” the sources say.

He also did not expect this level of backlash against him personally and his companies, including incidents of vandalism at Tesla facilities, the article said. 

In addition, according to WP sources, another motive for leaving the political scene was Musk’s desire to concentrate on managing his companies Tesla and SpaceX. He is focused on continuing the space program, including plans to send people to Mars.
