According to him, “Trump is playing a game of ultimatums with Russia.”

On July 28, US President Donald Trump set a new deadline for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the ultimatum

The odious politician published a corresponding message on the social network X. According to him, Trump is playing a game of ultimatums with Russia: 50 days or 10.”

“He must remember two things: 1. Russia is not Israel or even Iran. 2. Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country,” he wrote.

Medvedev also called on Trump “not to follow in the footsteps of Sleepy Joe,” apparently referring to former US President Joe Biden.

Trump’s Ultimatum to Russia

On July 14, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Donald Trump said he was giving the Russian leader 50 days to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine. Otherwise, Russia would face new sanctions.

But two weeks later, on July 28, the American leader said he saw no progress on the issue of Russia’s war against Ukraine. Against this background, he said he would set a new deadline  – about 10 or 12 days from today.
