Fires broke out, destroying residential buildings and grain warehouses.

Today, September 7, the Russian occupation army carried out a massive drone strike on Odessa and its suburbs. Three people were injured in the attack.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, in the morning for several hours the Russians launched “shaheeds” over Odessa, in particular from the Black Sea side. Explosions and shooting could be heard in different areas of the city. Strike drones flew directly over residential buildings, their buzzing could be clearly heard.   

The press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that in the morning, the Russian armed forces massively attacked Odessa, the Odessa district, and another settlement in the region with drones. In particular, a 5-story building, grain warehouses, and 7 cars were damaged in settlements adjacent to the regional center and in one village.

“Three civilians were injured in an enemy attack in Odessa – a 73-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman, and a 36-year-old man. The injured women were sent to the hospital, and the man was provided with first aid on the spot,” the department added.

Also in Odessa, a sports and concert complex was partially destroyed and two high-rise buildings were damaged. An investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As specified in the regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service, the attack in Odessa damaged the Palace of Sports and a multi-storey residential building, where firefighters extinguished a fire on the top floor. “A 9-storey residential building was also damaged, where rescuers extinguished a fire on the fourth floor. In addition, a warehouse building and cars caught fire. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 22 people,” the press service of the State Emergency Service said.

According to rescuers, their work was complicated by repeated air raid sirens.

In total, 17 units of equipment and over 90 firefighters were involved in eliminating the consequences of the massive attack.

The head of the Primorsky District Administration of Odessa, Marat Korolev, showed the condition of the houses on Serednofontanskaya Street, where one of the “arrivals” to the apartment building occurred.

Windows in the surrounding buildings are broken, glass is on the asphalt, etc. The official said that an operational headquarters will soon be deployed here, and people whose homes were damaged will be helped to “close” the windows.

Eyewitnesses wrote on social media that a Russian drone literally flew into a high-rise building on Serednofontanskaya Street, leaving a huge hole in it.
