As a result of Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine, significant destruction has occurred in Kyiv, the number of injured and dead has already reached hundreds, and people are still trapped under the rubble of buildings.

“Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the sites of destruction caused by the Russian strike in a high-rise building and private residential buildings in the Darnytsia district,” the report says.
Updated 8.10. According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko , 11 deaths are already known.
He added that part of a nine-story building in the Darnytskyi district was destroyed, and rescuers are currently extracting people from under the rubble, so the number of victims will likely increase.
The National Police also clarified that among the victims were two young children and a State Emergency Service employee.
In total, more than 20 residential buildings in Kyiv were hit by Russian shelling. Rescuers continue to work at 15 locations.

Head of the Kyiv City State Anti-Terrorism Agency Timur Tkachenko reported that as a result of the attack, damage and destruction were recorded at more than 30 locations in all districts of Kyiv.
“There are very significant direct arrivals to residential buildings, where, unfortunately, people are being rescued from under the rubble, including the dead… There are 9 confirmed deaths, information about several more people is being verified, but work on the ground is ongoing. 34 injured people have also been confirmed, including at least 1 child,” he noted.

According to the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Timur Tkachenko , as of 6 am, three people were killed and about 25 injured. Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that 5 people were killed and 34 people were injured. Meanwhile, Tkachenko is already writing about eight people who died.
“As of now, the number of victims of the Russian strike has increased to 8. The enemy is once again purposefully hitting residential areas and killing civilians. We have very serious destruction and a significant number of victims, including children,” he said.
According to him, 28 locations across the city were damaged by shelling. These are mainly residential buildings and civilian infrastructure facilities.
The State Emergency Service showed the consequences of the massive Russian attack on the capital – fires, destroyed houses, and burned cars – and provided details of the damage.
Thus, in the Darnytskyi district, several residential buildings were partially destroyed – a 5-story building, a 9-story building, the upper floors of a 16-story building, and private houses.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out on the roof of a 7-story residential building and a hotel building. Also, at another location, a 5-story building was destroyed, a fire was recorded in another 5-story residential building with an area of 300 sq. m, as well as in a 3-story non-residential building.
A fire was reported on the technical floor of a 16-story building in the Holosiivskyi district.
In the Pechersk district, the destruction of a 9-story residential building was recorded, a fire broke out within the 1st and 2nd floors on an area of 200 sq. m.
In the Obolonsky district, a fire broke out at a warehouse.
In the Svyatoshynskyi district, 2 private residential buildings were damaged, and in the Desnyanskyi district, a 9-story residential building was damaged.
