The enemy attacked the farmer’s car with a drone.

In the Kherson region, a Russian drone hit a car in which a well-known local farmer, Oleksandr Hordienko, was working in the field. He died as a result of the attack. This was reported by the head of the Kherson OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin. 

“I can’t believe it. On Tuesday we were still talking at a joint meeting, and today I received tragic news. In the morning, a Russian drone ended the life of farmer Oleksandr Hordienko. The enemy insidiously attacked the car in which he was working in the field,” Prokudin said.

According to him, the deceased had over thirty years of experience in agriculture. He was the owner of the Hordienko farm and headed the regional association of farmers and private landowners. He was well known and respected in the Kherson region.

“No mining, enemy shelling, or attacks forced him to abandon his life’s work. He remained in his native land until the last moment and worked for the Kherson region,” the head of the OVA added.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Russian military personnel attacked a passenger car with a drone near the village of Urozhayne, Beryslav District. This happened today at around 09:00.Read also:

“A 58-year-old man who was in the car died as a result of the impact,” the prosecutor’s office said.

An investigation has been launched into the fact of a war crime that led to the death of a person. 

According to Suspilne, after the deoccupation of the right-bank Kherson region, Hordienko single-handedly demined hundreds of hectares of fields, from where he removed several thousand anti-tank mines. Later, in order to continue working on the ground, Hordienko rescued equipment and workers from shelling. He also fought drones with electronic warfare and shot them down with a rifle. 

“I decided to fight them… We mainly use electronic warfare, but I’ve also shot them down with a rifle. It doesn’t work the first time, but after the fourth or fifth, they fall. That’s why I bought a ten-shot gun so that I could definitely hit them. We’ve already landed about a hundred drones. Then I walk through the fields, looking for the ones that didn’t explode, to neutralize them,” the farmer said about his fight against enemy drones.
