We are talking about the supplies that Trump promised under the new scheme of European financing of aid to Ukraine.

Germany has transferred three Patriot systems to Ukraine as part of a new aid scheme proposed by the United States for Ukraine, in which European countries pay for American weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, The Washington Post reported, citing unnamed officials.

It is noted that Ukraine hopes to receive 10 Patriot systems under the new scheme. At a meeting of Ukraine’s allies on Monday, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, without going into details, said that Berlin “will facilitate the provision” of five Patriot systems. And the journalists’ interlocutors reported that three systems have already been transferred, and Germany is currently negotiating with the United States on sending another one.

The remaining Patriot batteries may come from outside NATO, The Washington Post notes. For example, the Swiss Defense Ministry says that the five Patriot systems that the country ordered from an American manufacturer will be redirected by the United States to Ukraine, and the Swiss will receive the ordered systems later.

In addition to air defense systems, Ukraine is expected to receive radars and electronic warfare systems, drone interceptors, and artillery under this scheme, two officials familiar with the plans told the publication.

European defense ministers reportedly met virtually this week with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Grynkevich to discuss the plans.

In addition, the discussion about providing Ukraine with long-range missiles continues. Germany has already stated that it will not supply Taurus cruise missiles. According to The Washington Post, NATO diplomats do not rule out the possibility that the US will provide its missiles, although Trump has already stated that he is “not seeking to do so.”
