In the Moscow region town of Voskresensk, a fire broke out on the territory of one of Russia’s largest chemical plants – the Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers plant. According to available information, the blaze engulfed the sulfuric acid production workshop, located in the city’s industrial zone.

Other injured are in hospitals or have received medical assistance on site. The circumstances of the events and the condition of the injured are being clarified.

Official statements regarding the causes of the fire at the plant and subsequent government actions are being clarified at the moment, but the situation is under control of the rescuers.
