The Ukrainians reached Gomel in three planes.
Ukrainians evacuated from Oleshki arrived at the Gomel airport in Belarus by three planes, local news agency BelTA reports .
The residents of Oleshkiv first traveled by bus to the Russian city of Anapa on the Black Sea, then spent several hours in the air, flying to Gomel. There they were met by specialists from the local Ministry of Emergency Situations, doctors and Red Cross volunteers. The residents reportedly managed to take their pets with them.
At the airport, Ukrainians from Oleshki will wait to leave for Novaya Huta in the Gomel region – it is through this checkpoint that they will return to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that residents of Oleshki, who wanted to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine, flew to Gomel on Russian military transport aircraft. They are accompanied by Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets.
Buses with Ukrainians evacuated from Oleshki are due to cross the state border in Chernihiv region today, according to the Ukrainian Telegram channel Ukraine context , which is linked to the head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov.
Later, People’s Deputy David Arakhamia reported that the last, fourth plane landed in Gomel. According to him, in a few hours all Ukrainian citizens evacuated from Oleshki, together with the Ukrainian delegation, will be on the territory of Ukraine.
So far, there were no reports the refugees from Oleshki were killed or tortured inside Russia. Fingers crossed.
