Ukraine shot down the second A-50: what is known
As UNIAN reported, this evening the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down an expensive Russian A-50 aircraft . Eyewitnesses filmed the moment the missile hit the plane; before that, it had fired off heat traps, but to no avail.
Air Force Commander Nikolai Oleschuk confirmed the fact that the plane had been hit, and also thanked intelligence and everyone involved for the successful work.
As you know, the basic cost of the A-50 is estimated at $330 million, but the modernized versions are much more expensive.

Two aircraft? The A-50 is often accompanied by an Il-22 communication plane, it had been reported. Was that hit, too? What a lousy day for the Russian air force! Excellent! 😎
It’s either two planes or the one broke apart as it fell. Being dark, it’s hard to tell.
Ukraine have claimed they shot the plane down.

Hmm, right, that’s a point, Mr. Ofp. Even if there are two impact sites, it could be parts of the same A-50, a rather large plane. But on the other hand, the Russians ought to know if they lost contact with one or two planes, don’t they? 🤔
They’re not going to admit it. We’ll have to wait and see if there’s another piece of evidence.
