The Russians have lost the “eyes” of their air defense in Crimea.

On the night of September 30, units of the Special Operations Forces struck a costly Russian air defense facility  in occupied Crimea – a radar station of the Russian S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“It is symbolic that the enemy’s expensive air defense system, aimed, in particular, at UAVs, was neutralized by SSO strike drones. The radar station is the “eyes” of the S-400 Triumph complex. Without the observation and guidance element, the entire system loses its combat capability,” the report said.

The General Staff emphasizes that the SSO units continue to inflict significant damage on the enemy, accelerating his inability to conduct further combat operations.

Strikes on Crimea

As UNIAN reported, this is not the first time that Russian radar stations (RALS) from the S-400 “Triumph” have been hit on the territory of the occupied Crimean peninsula.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that on the night of August 28, 2025, special forces of the Department of Active Operations of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hit a high-value enemy target in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea – the Russian radar complex 91N6E from the S-400 “Triumph” air defense system .

“Triumph” is the name of the export version. The contract value of one division of four S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems is about $625 million.

  1. I’m surprised they still have any of these systems left on Crimea. I thought they had all been deployed to protect the putler mansions.
