The defense forces have successfully destroyed a Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber in Engels . Aircraft of this type are used by Russia to launch missile strikes on Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram .

“I am grateful to our soldiers for their accuracy. Long-range sanctions against Russia for this war were successful again. In particular, the SBU forces destroyed a Tu-95 military aircraft in Engels, which was used for Russian missile strikes on our country,” Zelensky noted.

According to him, the distance from the Ukrainian state border to the destroyed plane is about 800 kilometers.

As the president noted, thanks to this accuracy, Ukraine is defending itself fairly and actively.

In turn, as the Security Service of Ukraine reports on Telegram , according to preliminary data, this aircraft suffered critical damage – its tail section was completely torn off.

“The SBU is systematically destroying important elements of the Russian military machine. Each eliminated strategic bomber means dozens of unlaunched missiles over Ukrainian cities, saved lives of Ukrainians, and tens of millions of dollars in irretrievable losses for the enemy,” the report says.

It is also noted that Russian strategic aviation can no longer feel safe even at its most remote military airfields.
