The enemy has lost a significant amount of equipment and weapons, and its soldiers continue to surrender.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have successes in several directions. From August 4 to 16, as a result of joint actions of units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, which are part of the 1st Corps of the NGU “Azov”, a number of settlements were cleared in the Donetsk region .
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the following settlements have been cleared: Gruzskoye, Rubezhnoye, Novovodanoye, Petrovka, Vesyoloye, Zolotoy Kolodets.
In total, as a result of active actions in the corps’ operational zone, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower. Russia’s losses as of August 16 are:
- non-refundable – 910 people,
- sanitary – 335 people,
- Captured – 37 people.
In addition, 8 tanks of the Russian occupiers, 6 combat armored vehicles, 103 units of motor vehicles and motorcycles, one MLRS, 18 guns and 91 UAVs of various types were destroyed and damaged.
“The stabilization operations in the direction of the city of Dobropillya, in the Donetsk region, are continuing. The occupiers continue to surrender. Units of the 19th Army Corps, which are operating in the Donetsk region, have captured 6 Russian servicemen in the past 24 hours alone,” the statement says.
At the same time, the forces of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps and related units cleared the city of Pokrovsk of enemy groups and individual occupiers.
In the North Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian units advanced forward in several locations, in particular in the Yablonovka area of Sumy Oblast, the advance was up to 1000 meters.
