The commander of the 154th separate mechanized brigade, Colonel Volodymyr Kononnikov, who was found dead, had a gunshot wound. Police are establishing the circumstances of the officer’s death.

This was reported by the Zaporizhzhia region police, Censor.NET reports.

A case of premeditated murder has been opened.

“In Zaporizhia, police are establishing the circumstances of the death of a military officer. The commander of one of the military units was found dead with a gunshot wound. Information on this fact has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, legal qualification – p. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the report says.

Police officers are conducting investigative actions under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Eastern Region.
