BREAKING NEWS: Civilian ship explodes in Odessa region: there are 3 dead and 8 injured

In the Odessa region, a civilian dredger exploded during scheduled work, killing three people and injuring many others.

This was announced by the state enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration”. “Yesterday, July 23, late in the evening, an emergency occurred with a dredger belonging to the Delta-pilot branch of the state enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration”. The vessel with 11 crew members was at the mouth of the Bystre River to carry out scheduled work. Three USPA employees died as a result of the explosion,” the official statement of the enterprise says.

It is noted that the other crew members are in the hospital and are being provided with all necessary medical care.

Relevant services are currently working at the scene, and details are being clarified. The USPA promises to provide additional information on the results of the investigation.Read also:

Currently, the sea approach channel “Bystre” mouth is temporarily closed to vessel traffic. The passage to the seaports of the Danube region is currently carried out via the Sulin Canal.

“The State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration” will provide all necessary support to the families of the deceased and those who suffered as a result of the emergency,” the USPA assures.

Local Telegram channels are reporting that two men and a woman were killed. They also say that the explosion was allegedly caused by a seamine.
