Russia shelled several regions of Ukraine today, in particular, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy, strikes targeting energy facilities .

Chernihiv

In Telegram, JSC “Chernihivoblenergo” reported that several important energy facilities in the Chernihiv region were damaged as a result of Russian shelling.

“Subscribers in the city of Chernihiv and a number of settlements in the Chernihiv district have lost power,” the message says.

It is noted that when the security situation improves, energy workers will begin emergency restoration work.

The Chernihiv City Council reported that the Russian army struck today at approximately 4:00 p.m. “The enemy drone hit the side wall of the sixth floor of an apartment building. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out in the apartment, which was quickly extinguished by the State Emergency Service units,” the report said. It is noted that there were no casualties.

The report said that windows were broken in the house where the plane hit, as well as in a nearby dormitory building. In addition, two cars were damaged and caught fire during the impact.

“Measures are being taken to carry out priority emergency and restoration work. In particular, it is planned to close the perimeter of damaged houses with OSB boards to preserve heat in the dwellings due to the low air temperature,” the city council noted.

Cherkasy

The head of the Cherkasy OVA, Ihor Taburets, reported on Telegram that Christmas Eve in the Cherkasy region began with an enemy attack. “Air defense forces and means neutralized a Russian missile in the Cherkasy region. We have one injured person. Fortunately, not seriously,” he added.

He noted that, according to preliminary data, the blast wave damaged an educational institution, a garage cooperative, and a local cemetery. The area is being surveyed.
