The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that it supports all efforts for a political settlement of the “Ukrainian crisis”, including the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine, Europe, and the United States.

As Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform, this was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Lin Jian, commenting on the aforementioned initiative of Ukraine and partner countries dated May 10.

“Regarding the ‘Ukrainian crisis’, China’s position is consistent and clear. We believe that all efforts should be directed towards achieving peace,” the spokesman noted.

He noted that Beijing hopes that the parties to the conflict will be able to continue dialogue and negotiations to reach a fair, long-term and binding peace agreement acceptable to all parties, and ultimately achieve a political settlement to the “crisis.”

“We have always believed and continue to insist that the only viable way out of the “crisis” is dialogue and negotiations,” the spokesman stressed.

In addition, he commented on the words of US President Donald Trump about the need for more active participation of major powers, in particular Turkey and the PRC, to end the Russian-Ukrainian war: “China is ready, taking into account the wishes of the parties concerned, to cooperate with the international community and continue to play a constructive role in resolving the “crisis” and achieving long-term peace.”

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine is ready for meetings and negotiations in any format after a complete ceasefire.

In turn, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin rejected the “Coalition of the Willing” proposal for a ceasefire from May 12 and proposed resuming direct negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in Istanbul.

US President Donald Trump is convinced that Ukraine and Russia can begin peace negotiations and this day will be a big one for Ukraine and Russia.

On May 11, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, during which he stressed that his country was ready to do everything possible to ensure a ceasefire and lasting peace in Ukraine.
