Also on the train were security advisers to European governments, members of the Bundestag, diplomats and scientists.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and one of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s closest advisers were traveling on the passenger train attacked by Russians today, September 13, Der Spiegel reported, citing sources.
As reported by Ukrzaliznytsia, occupiers struck a passenger train locomotive 2 km from the Polish border. According to the publication, Günter Sautter, foreign policy and security adviser in Merz’s office, was traveling on the train from Kyiv to Poland.
Around 5:00 a.m., the train stopped near the Polish border. Drone strikes forced the evacuation of some passengers.
The publication noted that in Kyiv, Sautter, along with security advisers from the UK, France, and Italy, as well as the Ukrainian government, discussed possible peace negotiations with Russia. On September 12, he attended the YES Annual Meeting 2026, an international security conference.
Journalists added that, in addition to Sautter, the train also carried security advisers from other European governments, members of the Bundestag, diplomats, and academics. Boris Johnson also returned to Poland on the train after the conference.
Fortunately, everyone escaped with only a scare: shortly after the train stopped due to a drone alert and conductors woke passengers for evacuation, the alert was cancelled as no other drones were detected, the publication noted.
Also on the train was Robin Wagner, a member of parliament for the German Green Party in the Bundestag.Read also:
“I just returned from Kyiv. The air defense activity, the drone attacks—all of it was more intense than during my previous visits. And this morning, I was traveling by train along the very route where this attack occurred. Sometimes, chance decides whether you’ll reach your destination safe and sound. After all, Russian terrorists had already planned this attack. Russia poses a huge threat to European security. Too many of us still haven’t realized this. Our support for Ukraine in defending itself from this threat remains far too hesitant,” Wagner wrote on his X social media page .

Trump issues warning to Zelensky over strikes on Russia
President Donald Trump called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop targeting Russia’s diesel supplies on Sunday, saying the strikes were causing global fuel shortages.
Speaking to reporters at his golf resort in Doonbeg, Ireland, Trump said Zelensky could pursue other Russian targets but must stop “knocking out diesel fuel.” The remarks came as Ukrainian drones targeted Russian oil facilities and AAA put the U.S. diesel average at a record $6.20 a gallon, around 68 percent higher than a year earlier.
Newsweek contacted Zelensky’s office and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence via email for comment.
Ukraine has stepped up long-range attacks on Russia’s oil and gas industry, which Kyiv says finances and directly fuels Moscow’s war. The campaign has disrupted refineries and contributed to fuel rationing in parts of Russia, despite the country’s status as a major oil and gas exporter.
The latest attacks included a strike on Nizhnekamsk, a major refining and petrochemical center in Russia’s Tatarstan region, where local officials said two people were killed and 14 injured. Ukraine also claimed to have hit a refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, damaging a key oil-processing unit and setting its tank farm ablaze.
Kushner Says Territorial Dispute Stalling Peace Deal
Trump’s intervention came amid renewed U.S. efforts to broker an end to the war. Jared Kushner, Trump’s envoy and son-in-law, said the central obstacle remained Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demand that Ukraine surrender territory in the Donbas that Russia does not currently control.
Speaking at the Yalta European Strategy conference on Friday, Kushner said Putin had outlined his territorial demands during talks with U.S. envoys in Moscow on September 5. He said much of a potential agreement had been assembled, but Zelensky’s government was unwilling to withdraw Ukrainian forces to the line sought by Russia.
Kushner said Washington was pursuing a “creative solution” that would protect Ukraine’s interests while persuading Russia to end the war. He added that the U.S. expected to announce the next steps in the negotiations in the coming weeks.
The comments followed visits to Moscow and Kyiv by Kushner and fellow Trump envoy Steve Witkoff. The trip produced no immediate breakthrough, although Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. agreed to resume trilateral negotiations.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Sunday that Moscow was open to restarting talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States as soon as October. However, the two sides remain divided over Russia’s demand for territorial concessions, particularly in the Donbas.
The diplomatic maneuvering came as both countries exchanged hundreds of drones overnight. Russia said it intercepted 389 Ukrainian drones, while Ukraine said Moscow launched 453 drones, of which 409 were shot down or suppressed.
Russian Strikes Hit Near Polish Border
Russian attacks also struck western Ukraine, including near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing with Poland, where a petrol station caught fire. Ukraine’s state rail operator said a Russian drone also hit a passenger train locomotive about 1.2 miles from the Polish border.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the attack as Russian terror “knocking” on the doors of the European Union and NATO. No casualties were reported at the border crossing, which had been temporarily closed during an air raid alert.

“saying the strikes were causing global fuel shortages.”
The global fuel shortages are caused by Iran closing the strait of Hormuz, which is a direct result of trumpkov’s idiotic attack on Iran.
trumpkov is pointing the finger at Ukraine in an attempt to shift the blame. But sanctions on ruSSia mean that halting their exports shouldn’t make a difference in US fuel prices.
“U.S. diesel average at a record $6.20 a gallon”
I saw a price of $7.99 a gallon yesterday, and see reports of some California stations maxing out pump displays at $9.999 per gallon.

In that case Ukraine should do the exact opposite of what the putinaZi piss-stain orders.
