During the drone attack on Russian airfields, drones were used that were trained using artificial intelligence technology, Clash Report reports .

“Last year, Ukrainian military intelligence scanned Russian bombers and taught artificial intelligence to recognize them and perform automatic dive algorithms. Today we see the results,” the publication writes.

It is noted that two types of drones were used during the attack – classic vertical takeoff quadcopters and wing-type drones that are launched from a mini-catapult.

Drone attack on Russia: what is known

As UNIAN reported, today in the afternoon several military airfields in different regions of Russia were attacked by attack drones. In particular, strikes were carried out on the Olenya airbase in the Murmansk region and the Belaya airbase in the Irkutsk region. According to UNIAN sources, more than 40 Russian aircraft were destroyed or damaged , including strategic bombers that are in short supply.

Unlike previous Ukrainian attacks on Russian airfields, this time the drones did not have to fly thousands of kilometers all the way from Ukraine. The drones were brought in trucks closer to the airfields, and there the drones took to the skies and suddenly attacked the planes .
