BREAKING NEWS: American senator announces promotion of bill on devastating sanctions against Russia

According to him, now is the time to add more tools to President Trump’s arsenal to end the war.

The US Senate will consider a bill that would allow President Donald Trump to impose 500% tariffs on countries that buy Russian goods, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham announced on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“I greatly appreciate President Trump’s efforts to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, but this requires willing partners. Ukraine has said ‘yes’ to a ceasefire and any requests for meetings, while Putin continues to ignore peace efforts,” he wrote.

According to him, now is the time to add more tools to President Trump’s arsenal to end the war.

“I expect the Senate to introduce a bipartisan Russia sanctions bill that would allow for tariffs and sanctions on countries that support Putin’s war machine and do not help Ukraine. The bill would have presidential approval to give President Trump maximum leverage. This bill has 85 co-sponsors and counting. It’s time to end this bloodshed,” Graham added.

Sanctions against the Russian Federation

Earlier, the Ukrainian President’s Plenipotentiary Advisor on Sanctions Vladyslav Vlasyuk stated that US Senator Lindsey Graham’s bill on new sanctions against the Russian Federation will eventually be adopted, but not in its current form .

According to him, discussions on this issue are ongoing in the US, including within Donald Trump’s team. The specific timing of the decision is unknown, but “by analogy with the US strike on Iran, it could happen suddenly.”
