President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during this war, Ukraine has already achieved an important indicator: almost 60% of the weapons that Ukrainian soldiers receive are produced by domestic enterprises.
The head of state said this in an evening video address, Censor.NET reports .
He recalled that for the first time in history, Ukraine began building a joint plant with Denmark on the territory of this country.
“This will be the production of components for our missiles, for our drones – weapons that are already performing very well. During this war, Ukraine has already reached the indicator: almost 60% of the weapons that we have, that our soldiers have, are Ukrainian weapons, and these are powerful weapons, many advanced things,” the president said.
According to him, there are still goals that need to be achieved, and this, in particular, is the production in Ukraine and together with Ukraine of air defense systems – various types of systems.
“This is a challenge. We have to get to this point. Ukraine has already proven that we are among the best in the world in weapons production. We thank everyone who develops the Ukrainian defense sector, who develops new models of Ukrainian weapons, I want to thank all our people who promote the technological development of our state,” Zelensky added.

It’s amazing how far Ukraine have come in 3 years. They put the West to shame who keep coming up with feeble excuses as to why they can’t increase their own weapons production,
NATO has no defense industry………………and no stocks of any weapons……………useless organisation.
I have a discordant note…why did we need to wait until full out war. We were defending in 2014 and yet in 2022 we had close to nothing in terms of a military industry. Where were we for 8 years? We’ve had 300 years of suppression, did everyone think it was over because of the USSR breaking up? Where were we when Putin wrote his nonsense about Ukraine? Did we really think the second largest army wasn’t going to attack if that country was being led by a KGB officer?
I’m pleased we have quickly built up our military. However, those who believe our politicians between 2014 and 2022 did what they could, are sorely mistaken.
