10 deaths and dozens of injuries are currently known.

A rescue operation is underway in the Kyiv region after a Russian missile strike . This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“As of now, dozens of victims are known. It is also known that, unfortunately, six people died. My condolences to their families and loved ones. The investigation into all the circumstances and the fate of the people continues. All necessary services are working on the scene,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also responded to the Russian airstrike on Sloviansk. Five people were killed and nine others were injured in the attack. According to the president, residential buildings, a consulate building, and cars were hit by the Russians. 

“Cruel attacks on people, for which the Russians must be held accountable. Russia has long disregarded any international norms, any human norms. They are only interested in continuing the killings. It is important that partners also fully understand that the protection of life also depends on them. Patriot missiles are the number one priority,” the president said.

Russian strikes: what is known

As a reminder, on July 24, the Russian Federation attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles in the middle of the working day . Monitoring platforms reported that the occupiers launched at least 10 ballistic missiles of various types at the Ukrainian capital. 

As noted by expert Anatoly Khrapchinsky, the purpose of this Russian strike was to achieve the effect of surprise . He also emphasized that recently the enemy has moved its strategic aviation and increased its reserves. And this, according to him, may indicate the preparation of a massive strike.

It is also known from the words of Valery Borovik, the founder of the defense products company First Contact, that the Russians struck a serious blow at a training ground in Ukraine during an arms exhibition.
