In the city of Ovruch in the Zhytomyr region, a man detonated a grenade on a train; there are dead and injured.

Updated at 1:52 PM. Zhytomyr Oblast police reported that the explosion occurred around 10:50 AM on the platform of the railway station in 

As of 1:00 PM, four people were reported dead and 12 others were injured. They were hospitalized. 

According to law enforcement, State Border Guard Service officers were checking the documents of train passengers.

At the time, a man on the platform produced an explosive device, which detonated the explosive.

The explosion killed a 23-year-old Kharkiv resident who was in possession of the explosive.

Three women, aged 29, 58, and 82, all residents of the Korosten district, were also fatally wounded. A border guard was among the dead.

The police opened a criminal case under paragraphs 1 and 5 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder), Article 348 (Attempt on the Life of a Law Enforcement Officer, a Member of a Public Order and State Border Protection Group, or a Military Service Member), and Article 263 (Illegal Handling of Weapons, Ammunition, or Explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Local media outlet Korosten Today previously reported on the tragic incident on the train . According to the outlet, a man detonated a grenade while being detained on a commuter train. 

RBC-Ukraine, citing sources, reported that the man who carried out the explosion may have been wanted.
