Ukrainian drones have caused fuel shortages and resulted in Russians’ vacations being cancelled or extended unscheduled.

The fuel crisis in the Russian Federation is worsening. Airports have imposed restrictions on aircraft refueling, hundreds of flights are delayed both on arrival and departure, and passengers are spending the night clutching their suitcases, TSN reports, citing Russian social media groups.

The planes are running low on fuel, failing to reach Moscow and forced to make emergency landings, says a female airline passenger. She shows off the tiny waiting room, packed with Russians.

“We were urgently landed in Yaroslavl, and we’ve been here for four and a half hours. We were kicked out of the holding area because a foreign flight arrived there—there was no room for Russians. They’re not giving us water or food. They sounded a fire drill and asked everyone to leave,” the tourist complained.

Meanwhile, passengers have been waiting at Sochi Airport for their flight to Novosibirsk for several days now, since June 15. The flight has been rescheduled four times.

The Russians were initially allegedly sent to a hotel, but were denied accommodation there. Over the past two days, the tourists received several meal vouchers, but the establishments accepting them refused to serve them due to food shortages. In total, more than 100 flights arriving and departing from Sochi have been delayed, and several more have been canceled.
