The U.S. House of Representatives – following the Senate – passed a short-term government funding bill to avert a “shutdown” of the US government and provide more than $12 billion in security and economic aid to Ukraine.
The voting took place on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
230 legislators voted in support of the document, while 201 voted against it.
The draft law was not supported mainly by representatives of the Republican Party, whose claims were based on insufficient funding for US border security, restoration of supply chains, and the fight against inflation.
As reported, the U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a short-term government financing bill by an overwhelming majority (72 to 25). Now the document will be submitted to the head of the White House for signature.

The Ukrainian funding piece was only a small part of a continuing resolution which included funding for Afghan ally resettlement; winter heating assistance; aid for Jackson, Mississippi, amid its water crisis; reauthorization of FDA user fees, and more. Biden also asked for money to fight COVID-19 and monkeypox, though many top Republicans opposed those priorities and it is not clear if they will make it into the bill
So before you condemn all republicans how about you understand their reasoning. Only 12 of the 23 republicans have explicitly said that they don’t want to fund Ukraine.
So stop look listen and understand before the condemnation. IMHO!!!

EU has a combined economy close to the US. Where the fuck is Europe?? So those of you in Germany or Netherlands or other European countries where’s your outrage.
The US has provided 65billion in aid. WHERE THE FUCK IS EUROPE???
I’ll also add, in speaking with a number of those senator offices who don’t support Ukraine, a majority of those senators are saying WTF, where is Europe. Why should the US be footing the bill. And they’re right WTF is Europe????

The last I saw, Europe, not just the EU has contributed a similar amount but you know numbers, everyone has a different take. The Putinazis are flooding US media with the idea that Ukraine “Is not my war” or “Is none of my business” in an attempt to divide Americans. Unfortunately some Republicans have bought into that propaganda and it is shameful.
There are also some Europeans that don’t understand the American system and how legislative sausage is made because they have Prime Ministers that don’t need legislation. Or maybe I don’t understand them, lol…

I get that Sir Red. The numbers I’ve seen indicate the US far outpaces Europe in every category be by it direct financial, humanitarian or military. Actually and in all honesty if this wasn’t an issue on Ukraine I’d probably be bitching as well. Where is Europe and the so called liberals. They seem to gave a big mouth except when it comes to their money. But I am tired of continual bashing of republicans this or right wing that. At this point I say shove it and put your money where mouth is…Europe when you match the US contribution then come back and bitch about republicans. Until then it best you stay quiet.
Point well taken. As we’ve said many times before, if primarily western Europe showed the humanity that the Baltic States, UK, Poland, Slovakia and Czechia showed, those numbers would be very different. I saw a report this week that the Baltic countries have basically emptied their military warehouses for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Putin’s neighbors are protecting western Europe.
I’ve always said the real alliance are the Eastern European countries GREAT BRITAIN and the US. The rest of WESTERN Europe can go to hell. IMHO
And I’ve advocated for an EEU, and Eastern European Union split because of these differences. The unanimity requirement for the EU has financial and cultural differences that make the bloc too slow and too bureaucratic to be functional IMO.
