Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a working lunch at Veterano Pizza in Kyiv, BBC reported on May 14.
Blinken and Kuleba ordered two pies, including a vegetarian one, according to Barron’s.

“As someone familiar with pizza, like most Americans, I can say it’s excellent here; I highly, highly recommend it,” said Blinken.

The pizza restaurant was founded by Leonid Ostaltsev, a veteran of the Ukrainian army who volunteered to serve during the 2014-2022 war in Donbas.
Ostaltsev eventually established Veterano Group, a company running several pizzerias, cafes, a pastry shop, and a bar.
He hired fellow Ukrainian veterans to work at the restaurant, and they regularly deliver free pizza to soldiers recovering from their wounds in Kyiv hospitals.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Kyiv on May 14.

I was at this pizzeria with my lovely last September. The place is very interesting to see, the food is great, and they donate to the Ukrainian military regularly. I’m glad that Mr. Blinken took the time to eat there and help make the establishment even more popular. This will also help Ukrainian soldiers.
Thanks for the tip again, Sir Scradge.
Another great place to eat is the open air museum in Kyiv. The restaurant has the best fruit varenyky I ever tasted. They are filled the cherries and cream.
Which open air museum is that, foccusser? The only open air museum that I know in Kyiv is the Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum.
This is the place. There are directions on the site.
Oh, I know this place. 😂
It’s a cool museum and there was a multicultural festival there when we visited the place. There were people from across Europe and lots of delicious food!
Yeah it’s great place to see how Ukrainians used to live in what are basically sheds, along with their animals.
Yeah, we have to go there sometime F1. I will be in Ukraine later this year.
Yeah. Once Ukraine has been fumigated.
Only too happy that my recommendation was successful Frankie Facts!
I hope to return soon!
Recovering warriors often get cravings for comfort food like pizza and I’m sure delivering to them FOC is helping their morale too.
I definitely will return to this place on my next trip to Ukraine.
Yesh, nice move by Blinken (who never served in the army, though). Paying repect to veterans and supporting them is the right thing to do and will be important after the war. Other than the Vietnam veterans, many of which ended up poor and homeless, the brave defenders should get the necessary help to overcome the nightmares of war. That’s not only the right thing to do, but also essential for the Ukrainian economy.

Blinken: Washington has not encouraged Ukraine to strike inside Russia with US weapons, but decision up to Kyiv
Ukraine “has to make decisions for itself” when deciding how to use U.S.-supplied weapons that could strike targets inside Russian territory, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on May 15.
Speaking in Kyiv during a press conference, Blinken was asked about recent Ukrainian complaints that a Washington ban meant Ukraine was unable to attack Russian forces as they were building up before crossing the border into Kharkiv Oblast.
“We’ve not enabled or encouraged strikes outside of Ukraine, but ultimately, Ukraine has to make decisions for itself about how it’s going to conduct this war,” he said.

A comment on the above article:
Don’t you guys know. We let the British jump first. First to announce the challenger tanks then came the Abram’s. Then the Brits announced Storm shadows Then Came the Atacms. Now the Brits said it’s OK to use British weapons to hit Russia. See the pattern. It’s proper military superpower etiquette. It would be rude to the Russians if we went first. Then Germany follows big brother. Really not hard to figure out what’s next. Wink wink
Hmm, that’s an interesting point, makes sense. Thanks for sharing, Larry! 🙂👍
At one time in the distant past, the US would sneeze and the UK would catch the cold. Now the roles are reversed, unfortunately.
Maybe because Anglia is not in the EU while Biden is stuck up the EU’s ass.
I miss the Reagan days, Larry. He would take the lead, and that’s that!
Fact is Reagan would get crushed in primary to Trump. Sad state of affairs in current “Repubelican” party. No typo. Just immaturity in national security, at present.
That’s pure speculation.
